About the Role

In this position, the intern will help support the outreach efforts of the Freedom Writers Foundation. This intern will be able to help share the Freedom Writers’ story through researching and booking speaking engagements for Erin Gruwell and the Freedom Writers. This position will work with the Director of Outreach to develop communication strategy and marketing materials designed to both find new clients and develop relationships with existing clients. This intern will increase advertising and awareness of the Freedom Writers Outreach Program.

Requirements

Proficiency in Microsoft and Google Suite
● Passionate about the Freedom Writers story, vision, and mission
● Engaging interpersonal skills and excellent written & verbal communication skills
● Ability to respond effectively to the needs of a diverse audience
● Willingness to research institutions and potential clients for the Foundation
● Willingness to learn how to design marketing materials and utilize digital
platforms for outreach marketing correspondence
● Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
